Our Mission: City2 Sea's Mission is to educate and expand young inspired minds from the inner-city through hands-on marine science, ocean science experiments, and environmental awareness.

City2 Sea Current drop out rates approaching 40% are unacceptable. Arne Duncan, the Secretary of Education, has called education "the civil rights of our generation."

Our Country's top priority in education is to improve how we teach science. School District budget constraints limit practical lab experience at all levels. High School students need encouragement to pursue science.
  • City2 Sea has developed an interactive, on-the-water learning center that provides youth with hands on exposure to the ocean while inspiring them to learn about marine science. Students are offered fun, unique and life-changing hands-on experiments on an innovative 38 foot cruising classroom.
  • City2 Sea actively promotes and strives to increase outcomes of STEM learning and meets the California Standards for 9th-12th grade.
  • "The strength of the City2 Sea program is the ability to foster real curiosity through natural, empirical science. Scientific curiosity, above all other factors, is the key to creating young scientists. And where biology classrooms have all but removed living organisms, City2 Sea puts them back in spades" - Dave Anderson, 9th Grade Teacher at Animo High School, Venice, CA

Over 90% of the student participants from our first High School in Inglewood, CA are graduating and going on to higher education with a focus in the sciences.

City2 Sea, the newest program from Kids & Fishing, a local environmental / educational 501 c 3, is based in Redondo Beach, CA. We have changed the lives of 500 students per year with our new program. We are very excited to introduce our kids to our new Science of Sailing program in 2012.

With your financial support, we will be able to strengthen our programs to reach more deserving kids.
